Studying Graphic Design and Photography at Morningside University in Sioux City, IA, I had many opportunities to learn and collaborate. I worked as a Graphic Lab Assistant to support classmates during my entire time at Morningside and worked at two internships during my college career. I spent time at the Sioux City Journal as a Traffic Artist, developing and editing ads for a range of clients across the Midwest on both digital and print publications. The second internship was with Big Frig, a tumbler and cooler supplier that specialized in custom decals and laser printing. Both of these internships honed my skills and understanding of working between digital and print mediums as well as printing standards and guidelines.
Following graduation in December 2020, I worked in my hometown of Mitchell, SD as a ROW Specialist for Vantage Point specializing in permit drawings for fiber optic installation. Here I learned to work with detailed drawings and specifications that were based on utilizing government databases and records to showcase installation requirements, possible obstructions, and construction placement. In early 2022, I moved to Chicago, IL where I am currently based and working at All Points PR Agency as a Creative Associate. Here I work across social media platforms and digital advertisers with a range of clients. My work also includes brand materials and franchise development strategies that incorporate photography, graphic design, simple animation, and video editing.
Towards the end of 2023, I also began a personal project to improve my illustration and writing skills. I started a SubStack to share digital panels from a comic series I call "Foxy & Friends" which I post biweekly with plans to print the completed volume by early 2025.
Born and raised in South Dakota I grew up drawing, constantly. Arts became an outlet, and now an avenue. To make, create, and collaborate! Cartoons and animated movies dominated my time. I was always trying to draw my favorite characters and watching with my older brother. While I don't keep up with sports too much now, hockey was a big part of my life and I grew up a Chicago sports fan. I also helped with my brother's Special Olympics teams growing up and cheering him on at games.
